Carol Thomas
has been a full-time medical writer since 1987, when she completed an Honours
B.Sc. in Human Biology at the University of Toronto. Over the past 17 years,
she has written more than 500 articles, over 90 videos, and copy for dozens
of other projects in a wide range of fields. She has at various times also
been a monthly columnist on medical ethics, a trade journal News Editor,
a videoscript and print editor, and a panelist for the Health Law section
of the Canadian Bar Association (Ontario).
Debra L. Beck
graduated magna cum laude from George Washington University with an
Honors B.A. in Psychology. She has worked as a research assistant in emergency
medicine at the George Washington University Medical Center, and later in
cognitive neuroscience at the National Institutes of Health. She also held
the position of NIH clinical trials coordinator at the New York Eye and Ear
Infirmary. She has been a full-time medical writer since 2000, with a strong
specialization in ophthalmology and interventional cardiology.
